Cotswold Lavender
Yesterday, I went to the gorgeous Cotswold Lavender Fields in Snowshill, which is located near Broadway. Acres of land covered in a vibrant and purple colour, complemented with a rich fragrant smell and the sound of bees buzzing. It's a great place for tourists to grab a sense of the English countryside and perfect to capture through the lens.

There lavender fields is only open in English summer time. This year it is opening for just over two months and the last day is on the 4th August. Keep checking each year because the dates can change! There is a price of £4.00 for adults, £2.00 for 5-15 year olds and under 5's go free. It is open from 10am till 5pm each day and there is a big car park with accessibility for coaches as well. Photographs can be taken, but drones aren't allowed and if you are wanting to do commercial photography you have to speak to the people in charge before hand for terms and conditions. More info about the goings-on are here on their website: https://www.cotswoldlavender.co.uk/visiting-our-farm/photography.
There is also a distillery where you can learn how the lavender is made into oils and more. Also for you historians and lovers of well-being, there is a section to learn about the history of lavender and how beneficial it is for you. I can tell you what I was very sleepy by the end, so it is true what they say about lavender being a good remedy before bedtime.
We all love a gift shop and tea room or at least I do anyway. This is where you can take the experience home with you. For instance, there are some toiletry products, such as lavender hand cream, body lotion, hand wash, soap, reed diffuser, room spray and more. Furthermore, grab your hands on postcards, scarves, jam, homemade lavender sachets, lavender fudge and shortbread. There's also such a thing as lavender sugar, which I didn't even know was thing. You can even take home a small pot lavender to plant in your garden, which is what I did.
In there tea room they had a lot of choice most containing essence of lavender which I was excited to try. For instance, they had lavender: brownies, flapjacks, ice cream, scones etc. However, I tried the lavender shortbread. I was a bit worried that the lavender would be too strong. However, I am glad to say that the strength wasn't too powerful and complemented the sugary sweetness perfectly.
I hope that you have enjoyed this post and has inspired you to take a trip through the Cotswolds to visit this lovely scented area of England.
