Anthropologie Look on a Budget

Anthropologie is one of those shops where you just want to buy EVERYTHING!!! Especially the decor. However, it is a very expensive shop and being a student it's not one that I tend to shop in. It's more of a place to walk in and imagine what things would look like in your house or as my mum likes to say "it's like walking into an art gallery".

Therefore, I've come up with a way to have the 'Anthropologie Look on a budget'. I found this gold jewellery holder with an imbedded mirror at a lovely shop called Cowley House in Cirencester. It is a gift shop, so there are many different brands and the piece I got is by a brand called 'Sass & Belle'. The hanging piece coast me £8.99 reduced from £12.99, so you can already see that you are saving a big amount of money. Additionally, I found a jewellery hanging for £88 on Anthropologie. Unfortunately Cowley House is closing down, so if you are in the Cirencester area I recommend to go in quickly while it's still there. However, the brand Sass & Belle are still going and they have three stores in London, as well as having an online shop. I hadn't heard of this brand before so I had a look on their website and I was very pleased with what I saw. It very much reminds me of Oliver Bonas as well as Anthropologie, but for a fraction of the price!

 


Now it's time to move onto the way I styled this hanging piece, which you can basically see from the images, but there are just few details I would like to point out. The first thing is the laced ribbon, this didn't come with the jewellery hanging I just found this in my craft box at home and I find tying it in a bow creates a beautiful, french, preppy look. I would suggest hanging onto any bits and bobs you see lying around such as buttons, beads, ribbons etc. as you never know what might come in handy for future projects. In saying that I also used a small white ribbon that came from a piece of clothing (i.e. the ribbons that are used to help hang clothing up on hangers) to help synch in the scarf I added that you can see on the far right. I further added the gold, leafy, flowery, wired details ( I'm not sure what they are called I'll leave a picture below) to the hanging. There were 10 of these wired pieces altogether and they cost me 50p from Cowley House. As they were wired I could easily wrap them around the gold metal frames of the jewellery hanger. I feel this just accentuates the look of what you would see in Anthropologie and adds a pretty detail to the piece.

I then added jewellery and a scarf that I already had which compliments the colours well. The pearled necklace adds a timeless, vintage look to the piece. This necklace was passed down from my great grandma, so if you have any heirlooms why not pair them with a modern decor piece.



Overall you can see that this authentic, vintage look on a budget will compliment any room. We have learnt to find Anropologie dupes and compliment them by using accesories and materials that we already have. In total I spent £9.49 for this whole look, not too shabby. Homemade Elderflower Cordial

Spring is slowly heading into summer in the UK at the mo, but as I am writing it is currently pouring down with rain and is very cold - classic.
