Homemade Granola
......................................................................................................................................

It's becoming increasingly popular in our daily breakfasts and even dessert. I have recently loved adding this delicious oat, fruit and sweet blend into my food, especially smoothie bowls! Of course I love eating this combo for the taste, but also because it fills me up and I'm someone whose appetite is ridiculous and it takes something special like this to do the job!
So if you love granola as much as I do and would love to learn how to make some, please see below for my recipe.
Ingredients:
160g Oats
70g Raisins
6 Dried Apricots
20g Desicated Coconut
4 Brazil Nuts (Chopped)
1tsp 1/2 of Ground Cinnamon
1 tbsp Orange Zest
2tbsp Coconut Oil (Melted)
Coconut Oil Spray
30ml Maple Syrup or Date Syrup
Dash of Water

Instructions:
Step 1: Set the oven to 160℃ fan. Then put the oats, raisins, dried apricots, desicated coconut, brazil nuts, and ground cinnamon in a large bowl and mix with a spoon.
Side Note: The brazil nuts contain selenium, which is extremely good for your health.

Step 2: Now for this next stage I have to give creds to celeb cook/baker, Nadiya Hussain. She saves her orange peel and puts it on a plate (indoors) in the sun to dry out and then she blends it all up with a mortar and pestle. However, you can do what I did and just pop it in a blender and it worked perfectly. Once grinded put it in a jar and keep for all sorts of bakes, e.g. carrot cake, porridge, muffins and of course granola. You can do this method or just zest oranges, until you have enough for a tablespoon. Now add the orange zest to the bowl and stir in.

Step 3: Now add the syrup, coconut oil and a dash of water in a cup and mix. Then pour it into the bowl and give it a stir, until all the dry ingredients are coated in the liquid concoction.

Step 4: Now get a medium or large tray, spray it with coconut oil and pour in your granola mix. Make sure to spread it evenly. Then pop it in the oven for 12 minutes and inbetween baking, make sure you open the oven door and stir the mix around, so that it doesn't catch on the sides.

Step 5: Once your granola is baked, put it straight into a jar or bowl, so that the mix isn't continuously cooking in the tray.

There we go, your granola is ready to apply to anything you like. I hope you enjoyed this wholesome bake and I'll see you again soon for another post soon.
